Spring Transitions & Autism: Understanding Change, Regulation & Support

Presented by Chandeep for Arc of Fort Bend County

Chandeep recently had the opportunity to present “Spring Transitions & Autism” for Arc of Fort Bend County to an online audience of parents, caregivers, and community members.

Seasonal changes can feel exciting, but they can also bring unexpected challenges for children with autism. Changes in school routines, activity schedules, daylight hours, and sensory environments can increase anxiety and dysregulation. During this presentation, Chandeep shared practical, real life strategies to help families better support their children through these transitions.

Families learned how to prepare for schedule changes, reduce transition related stress, use visual supports effectively, and build flexibility while maintaining a sense of safety and predictability at home.

This presentation was designed to give parents clear tools they can begin using right away.
